About La'Mont R. Williams
La’Mont R. Williams has over a decade of experience as a government attorney and advisor achieving results for his clients. Additionally, La'Mont currently serves as the Chief of Staff and General Counsel to Cook County Commissioner Bill Lowry, 3rd District. La’Mont's practice includes federal, state, and local governmental issues, worker’s compensation defense, land use and zoning, and civil litigation. La'Mont represented clients in matters before the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Illinois, the Cook County Circuit Court, and the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission. La'Mont is an experienced litigator with experience in drafting and passing legislation at the State and local level (Good Faith Effort Transparency Report Ordinance), building and advising on economic development programs for small businesses (Cook County Cannabis Business Development Grant Program), and contract drafting and negotiation experience.
Education & Credentials
La'Mont holds a law degree from Loyola University - Chicago's Law School and is a past recipient of Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Norman C. Amaker Award of Excellence (2020) and the Donald L Hollowell Distinguished Service Award (2024). La’Mont attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa achieving a B.A. in Criminology with minors in history and political science.
